[ Ava takes a breath before entering his office, quietly shutting the door behind her.

She sits down on the couch, hands in her lap to try and keep them from shaking, staring at the floor and swallowing hard. ]

[ She's saying this softly, voice shaking unlike her usual confident self. ]

I tried to give someone advice, but I'm terrified they're going to take the situation poorly and kill someone else and ....

Then my friend won't exist.

[ She's taking deep breaths to try and calm herself, and despite her best efforts she can feel tears welling up. It hurts, and she has maybe an inkling of a feeling of why it hurts as much as it does, but she isn't sure she wants to admit it in front of her father. Not when he has so much more to worry about. ]
